Anthony Flaum is a London born lyric tenor who has had an unusual route into the industry. He originally studied Business & German at the University of Nottingham and then entered full-time employment in the financial world.  His musical career began in 2005/2006 when he studied Musical Theatre at the Royal Academy of Music. Since 2010, he has concentrated on developing his classical tenor voice and was chosen to join the "Singers of the Future" programme run by the National Opera Studio (NOS) in 2011. He completed the full-time course at the NOS in 2013. During his year of study, he was kindly sponsored by English National Opera and generously supported by Grange Park Opera, the John Wates Foundation, the Nicholas Boas Charitable Trust, the Robert Vivian Trust and Michael Ward. He was awarded the Nicholas John Fellowship award for outstanding merit during his year at the NOS.

Operetta and musical theatre roles include; Motel Kamzoyl Fiddler on the Roof (Grange Park Opera), Henrik A Little Night Music (Opera Project at West Green House), Captain Fitzbattleaxe Utopia Limited, Nanki-Poo The Mikado and Frederic The Pirates of Penzance (National G&S Company), Dracula Hell-Sing (Bloomsbury Theatre, London), Basil Come Dancing (Theatre Royal Stratford East), Casanova Casanova (King’s Head Theatre), DH Lawrence Scandalous (Nottingham Playhouse), Beast Beauty and the Beast" (Kirkcaldy, Scotland), and Guido Nine (RAM) amongst others.  He has also sung for various charities and private institutions such as Rolls Royce, the RAC Club, National Liberal Club Whitehall and the Duchess of York as well as with celebrated orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic and the BBC Concert Orceshtra.

He is also passionate about education in the arts and regularly holds school workshops on opera and theatre.
